Xtreme game REVIEW! Peggle FOR THE XBOX ACRADE!

Well I have no idea why this review is an Xtreme game REVIEW! but none the less Peggle for the Xbox Live Arcade is an awesome, amazing and innovative game (The 3 A's....lol). I picked this sweet game up for a bargain of 400 mspoints when it was on special (50% off) and it was well worth it even for 800 mspoints its still worth it. This game also has one DLC that is currently out for 400 mspoints. (Peggle Nights)

When you first play this game it will feel like you've play it somewhere else. It plays like a combination of a classic brick breaker game and tetris. You control a tube that shoots what look like little metal balls at "Pegs" (That's where Peggle comes from) and balls to get points. When you hit a peg or ball it will light up and only disappear if your stuck on it or when your ball falls through the bottom of the screen or into a catcher the will grant you with a free ball. The round is over when you clear all the pegs and balls from the screen or hit all the orange pegs and balls. You pick from a set of characters that you unlock by playing through the games story mode and each character has a certain special ability. You may use their ability when you hit one of the matches 2 green pegs or balls. Abilities like having your ball turn into a fireball can be a great help and often get multiple pegs in one go. Seeing you only have a finite amount of balls to shoot before its game over and you lose, you need to be hitting at least 1 orange peg a turn.

Probably the most exciting event in the whole is "Fever mode". Fever mode is activated when you hit the last orange peg and makes your ball into an ultra score machine. Amazing classical music plays loudly in the background as your ball ricochets of various pegs amounting to massive points and massive fun. This finishes when your ball flies into one of 5 holes for tons of points. (It varies hole to hole)

The game looks very pretty and vibrant on its 2D plain with nice artwork in the background and some soothing music playing. Its very relaxing and a great way to just leave the troubles of the game behind. For an acrade game the multiplayer is very active and offers a great time with friends or other players. There are Peg Parties, up to 5 people play the same level separately and see who can score the most points. And finally duels where 2 players play the same level at the same time having turns who can score the most points. All modes are very fun and suffer from almost no lag.

All in all this game is up there with the best Xbox Live Acrade games and PopCap has done a great job on this enjoyable game.

Gameplay: 7.5 - Very enjoyable and fun but don't over do it.
Graphics: 9.0 - Most likely the best it could be.
Sound: 8.5 - Great soundtrack, calming to listen to.
Worth: 8.0 - Definitely worth a purchase on the Xbox Live Market Place.
Overall: 8.0 - A very nice addition to my XBLA library.
